EDA Junior Development Squad meets Olympian

EDA's Junior Development Squad ran into a recently returned Olympian at the Victoria University pool on Friday night!

Hannah Cross represented Australia at the Rio Olympic Games in Synchronised Swimming. She gave our swimmers an inspirational chat about 'hard work paying off'. It is something the kids will treasure forever.

What a surprise we had at Friday night training when our coach Chris told us that an Olympic athlete was going to talk to us. It was Hannah Cross, the synchronised swimmer ! Hannah had just returned from Rio!

Hannah told us that she was a swimmer for 13 years before she decided to be a synchronised swimmer. She also told us that she has been to lots of races feeling nervous but at the Rio Olympics she was really excited. Hannah said that she had been training to go to the Olympics for 6 years and that she trained 6 hours in the pool and 2 hours outside of the pool, wow! Hannah said that going to Rio was worth all the hard work.  She then finished by telling us that if you work hard you can achieve your goals. Hannah was so nice and friendly and was very happy to have a photo taken with us.
